I am attorney and writer living in Arlington, Virginia.  I have two books to my name: Unknown Sands: Journeys Around the World's Most Isolated Country, a first hand account of traveling the central Asian country of Turkmenistan and a legal reference book that has nothing to do with poetry.   I keep a blog on books and poems on an unscheduled basis, http://compulsivelyaimless.blogspot.com/

Indefinite Knowing

A suspect monk
waits in an alley
for a message
that does
not come

Neighborhood Supernova

From under drawn window shades
I peak to see
the sparkling
blob of a supernova
hurtling toward me.

But that was in the days
of youthful indiscretion
and before I put my glasses on
to realize
it’s a streetlight
in the early morning dark.

New Shakespeare

There go
those computers
and that Internet
again.

Like Shakespeare
shaping the King’s English:
     --band-width
     —brain dump
     —Google it
     --networking while multi-tasking

Oh yes,
RESIST --
but how can you
control language
when you can see
the futility of the French language police?

We could
unplug.
