I am currently a junior high school student who lives in Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands.  I enjoy expressing myself through visual and abstract arts and writing poetry. I hope that one day I can become a graphic artist.

Mayday, Mayday!

From the rooftop, I see the mountains high
On their ridiculous height — I grin
There are birds down below on fountains, “Hi!”
And everywhere the fog is rolling in.
I jump down the staircase, no second thought
Here I am, looking for a place to hide
For big brother comes dashing in, he’s hot
He is ugly. Laughing, I say “Goodbye!”
Into the hallway of the house, it’s dark
What should I do now? I am scared in here,
Trip, fall, bang-bang, oh no. There is a spark.
No sight, I’m dead. Will I soon disappear?
“Mayday, mayday!” I hear big brother say
He picks me up and tells me “It’s okay.”
